Seats, computers and your team
Sign in to the apps, one seat per computer, change computer, share your plan with a team, and keys for build agents.
Sign in to the apps
GUI Test Studio, GUI Test Runner-Recorder and the command-line runner work with your account: the same one as this website, with your email and password or with Google.
- 1
Open an app
The first time, it shows a short code and opens your browser on the website.
- 2
Allow this computer
Sign in if you are not yet, check that the code matches, and click Allow This Computer. The app continues by itself.
You sign in once per computer: the three programs share it.Your name and picture appear at the top right of the apps, with a menu to open your account, the documentation, or sign out.
If the browser did not open, go to the website, sign in, and open Allow this computer from the address the app shows; type the code there.A code is valid for 15 minutes.
Seats and computers
Your plan has one seat per user.A seat is one person on one computer: you on your computer, each member of your team on theirs. The free trial is one seat.
| Plan | Seats | Who uses them |
|---|---|---|
| Free trial | 1 | You, on one computer |
| Individual | 1 | You, on one computer |
| Small Team | 2 to 5 | You and the people you invite, one computer each |
| Enterprise | 6 and more | The same, for a larger team |
You buy Small Team for 4 users and invite three colleagues. You use the apps on your computer, and each colleague on theirs: four people, four computers, four seats.
Your computers are listed on your account page, under Your computers.Deactivate frees a seat: the apps on that computer stop within a few minutes.
Seats you have not given to anyone are yours: with 4 users and one member, you can use the apps on up to three computers yourself.
Change computer
A new laptop, a computer that crashed or was lost: deactivate the old one on your account page (or choose it when the new one asks to be allowed), then sign in on the new one.Your account, your trial or subscription and your team follow you; your tests stay where you keep them.
Going back to a computer you used before counts as a change too.A seat that was never used fills freely.
Share your plan with a team
With a Small Team or Enterprise plan, you are the owner of a team: the people who test with you join it with an account of their own and use the apps under your plan.On your account page, Your team shows the seats in use, the members and the invitations.
- 1
Name your team
Rename beside the card's title.Members see that name.
- 2
Invite by email
Each invitation takes a seat and is valid for 14 days. The person signs in with that email address, with Google or a password, and joins in one click.
To invite several people at once, open Invite several people at once under the field and paste their addresses, one per line or separated by commas: every address that can be invited is, and the others are listed with the reason.
- 3
Manage the members
Remove frees the seat at once: the apps on that person's computer stop within a few minutes.A member can leave by themselves from their own account page.
An invitation that was not received can be sent again with Send again, or taken back with Revoke. The owner pays for the plan and is the only one who invites, removes and creates keys.
The number of users of your plan cannot go below the seats in use; remove members or keys first.
If you are a member
You received an invitation by email.Open its link, sign in with the address it was sent to (create your account in a minute if you have none), and join. The apps then work on one computer of yours.
| As a member you | |
|---|---|
| Follow the owner's plan | You have no plan of your own and cannot buy one while you are in the team. |
| Keep your own account | Your name, your picture and your computer are yours. The owner sees your name, your email address and your computer's name. |
| Can leave at any time | Leave the team on your account page. You are then free to choose a plan or start a team of your own. |
Build agents: machine keys
A build agent runs tests with nobody signed in.On your account page, under Machine keys, create a key for it: the key takes one seat and is shown once.On the agent, sign in with it:
gtr-cli login --key GTS-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXA key is bound to the first computer that uses it.Free the key lets another computer take it (at most once every 30 days); Revoke ends it and gives the seat back.
More about pipelines in Run tests in your pipeline.
When a subscription ends
When your trial ends, or a subscription is cancelled and its paid period is over, the apps stop on every computer at their next check and ask to choose a plan.A team ends with its owner's subscription: every member is released and free to buy a plan or start a team of their own, and every machine key is revoked.Once the owner pays again, the team is built up again from the account page.
